Marion L. Nielson

July 21, 1932 - November 5, 2014

Marion L. Nielson
1932 – 2014

Marion was born on July 21, 1932 to Robert and Mildred Linde in Salt Lake City and she passed away peacefully in her home on November 5, 2014.

Marion attended South High and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Sociology. She worked for Mountain Bell and AT&T for over 30 years in customer service.

After college, Marion moved to San Francisco with her good friend, Carol. Turns out Carol had a handsome brother, Don. Carol introduced them, mom moved back to Salt Lake and dad left the Navy. They were married in 1956. They were blessed with two daughters, Kathleen and Stephanie. Marion was a wonderful wife and mother who always supported her family and made many sacrifices for them. She loved crossword puzzles and her Utah Jazz.

Marion is survived by her daughters, the "lights of her life", Kathy Nielson and Stephanie (Daniel) Carlson; granddaughters Courtney and Bailee. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother Bob.

Special thanks to Brighton Hospice, especially Emberly, Alisa, Megan and Lori. Your love and care of mom will not be forgotten. To the people of Starks Funeral Parlor, your kind and gentle service is greatly appreciated.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 12th at 11:00 AM at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City.

In Loving Memory

Your mother was always so gracious and interested in me and my family. Her love for both her girls was clearly evident in her words and actions. We are praying for you during this difficult time.
