Mark Babe Drazich passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the age of 95.
Mark was born on January 3, 1930, in Bingham Canyon, Highland Boy, Utah to Marko and Louise Klotovich Drazich. He attended South High School. On April 23, 1949, Mark married Josephine Malouf at the Cathedral of the Madeline in Salt Lake City.
Mark worked in the family trucking business before joining the military. He joined the US Army in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1956 to return to work in the family trucking business.
Besides working in the trucking industry, Mark raced stock cars, owned Mark’s Lounge, and was a man of many talents. He was fiercely independent and was reluctant to accept help of any kind. He was climbing ladders to trim trees well into his 90s. He also continued to play golf until last fall.
Mark was preceded in death by his wife Jo, his parents, brother Viko, sister Anita Drazich Erekson, sister Patrica Drazich Pezel, and nephew John Pezel. Mark is survived by sister-in-law, Edna Holman. Although Mark and Jo had no children of their own, they were second parents to and survived by 19 nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dog Taco II.
His family would like to thank Right at Home and Intermountain Health Hospice for their gentle care of Mark during the last weeks of his life.
A celebration of life honoring Mark will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek, UT.
