I flew with Mark on many occasions at NWA; I always enjoyed flying with him , and enjoyed catching up in the lobbies of various hotels when we managed to bump into each other. He was one of the good guys, and I am deeply saddened. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Mark and I were Blue BLasters together. He was an excellent stick and carried himself with great dignity. He had a sly sense of the irony that we often found ourselves in during our carrier years and we shared the same sense of humor. THe truth is, he cracked me up and I really enjoyed his comraderie. He has often been in my thoughts and memories. I didn't realize that he was with Northwest or I would have looked him up as I am with Delta. I am sorry that I lost touch. I'm sure that it has been rough on his family. my prayers and thoughts are with them at this time of loss. It was an honor to have served alongside of Mark. Fairwell Intruder.

I had the tremendous honor of serving and flying with Mark for many years in the Navy. The memories I have of him and of his wonderful sense of humor will remain with me always. He was pretty darn good at the "back of the boat" coming aboard too!! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I will raise a glass to our fallen Shipmate the very first chance I get. Fondest regards, Abe Ellis

My deepest sympathies. Mark and I were classmates at VA-42 in 1980 and were friends until the Navy took us our separate ways. I'm truly sorry for your loss. What a shock. God Bless you all.

I remember Mark best for his wonderful sense of humor and his love for Naval Aviation. I had the privilege of cruising with Mark and flying the A-6 Intruder in VA-75. I am proud to have known and served with him. Fair Winds and Following Seas Shipmate, Jim Hoffman

I was also a squadron mate and roommate of Mark's in VA-75 aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. A good pilot, and just as important, a good guy to be around. Never saw him down. We'll miss you "Bunts".

This was sad news to hear. Mark and I arrived at VA-75 at about the same time. It was a pleasure to be in the squadron with him. Sorry to loose you Bunts.

Trish,so sorry to learn that we have lost "Bunts". I knew him through the Navy and Both of you at Northwest. You were the ideal couple, always so warm and a total joy to be around. I lost my wife Particia, just over 4 yrs ago, to cancer "brain tumor". so I actually know how much you do miss him as I do her. All the best in the coming years and please, always feel free to call me no matter where you are. bob foster 757-572-8248

Shana and I are both saddened and shocked at Mark's passing. We were in VA-75 with Mark which was the first active duty squadron for both of us. I know you already are aware of what a kind and thoughtful person Mark was but what you may not know is he was that same person the first day we all met him in 1980 when we were learning to fly the A-6 together. He always had time for his squadron mate. As many on this tribute site have already said he was a kind and gentle person with a tremendous sense of team and making others successful. Mark was just easy to be around and when we gathered for the evening movie in the ready room an open seat next to him was rare. He was also very good flying around the boat, which for a Naval Aviator is important. If any of Mark's children want to contact any of the ?Punchers? as they get older and have questions about Dad please email me and if I can't answer I will find someone who can. I'm sure any of the VA-75 crowd would be honored to tell you about what a great man your Dad was to all of us.

As Mark's VA-75 squadron mate, occasional BN, and housemate I am deeply sadden to hear of his passing. He was a kind and happy person that made the squadron special place. I regret that we were never able to reconnect later in life but often think back with a smile of our times together as young junior officers.

I was deeply saddened to hear about "Bunts" passage. We were USNA classmates and years later bunked together during a deployment with the VA-34 Blue Blasters. He was a great friend and outstanding "stick". Farewell Bunts.. God has turned into the wind for you.. Charlie Now!
