Jerry and Fred, just a brief note to offer my sincerest sympathies over the loss of your brother. While I didn't know Mark terribly well, the few times that we did meet and talk told me right away that he was a generous and loving gentleman. How lucky you were to have him in your life. Warmest wishes, George Starks and family

I live just up the street from where mark lived as a boy and where he lived currently. I knew him back then and 8 years ago moved back into the house that I was raised in. I have never seen a more caring and genuine person. Mark always had a hand to lend and a friendly hello no matter what else.. I know that in the past year he has told me how much he missed his mother. I am so sorry for your loss as he is truely and inspiration and someone to remember. He will be missed muchly in the neighborhood. I am just one year older than he is and he always was a pleasant friend to have. He will never be forgot for his wonderful ways. Margaret Cooke

Mark was a student at Salt Lake High when I taught there many years ago. He was always pleasant and happy and appreciative of everything anyone did for him. His obituary makes me realize that he continued his great attitude into adult life and made the best of the opportunities that came his way. May we all do so well.

I can't put this into words how shocked I was to hear about my friend passing. Mark and I grew up together. We lived just across the street from the Diana's and knew the whole family very well. I will always have great memories of Mark and will miss him very much. Until we meet again. Mark never let his disabilities and life's challenges get in his way of growing into a big man with a very big heart and doing what he wanted to do, and that was helping people. He was truly so very good at that. He will be missed. Jerry and Fred I wish the best to you both and am so sorry for the loss of your brother Mark. It is so true that only the good die young!

We just wanted to let Mark's family know how much we liked Mark and how much we are going to miss him. We've lived next door to him for 19 years. He was a great person and a great neighbor. He was always quick to help out if we needed anything. If anything looked out of place or if there was a car at our house that he didn't know he would always call to make sure everything was okay. He was great with our kids, too. They all really liked him. He would always talk to them to see how and what they were doing and he would let them play in his yard. It is going to be very strange not having him live next door and we are all going to miss him a lot. He was a great person.

Living just across the street, I knew Mark from the day he was born. I was his babysitter for years. Mark was probably 3 years old when we played a game that helped to build the strength in his legs. He wore braces and it was difficult for him to walk but we went door to door in the neighborhood playing milkman or mailman. Mark would walk up the steps to the house and pretend he was the delivery man. I was proud of his determination. Mark had a photographic memory and could tell you the license plate number of every car in the neighborhood. Mark was a part of our lives and a part of our family. My Dad "adopted" Mark and took him under his wing. Dad drove a service/tow truck for AAA and the two friends spent many hours together. I think that is when Mark decided he wanted to be in the service business. Mark spoke at my Dad's funeral just last August. I was shocked and wanted to call my Dad when I heard Mark had passed. I think Dad and Mark are together on the other side. That comforts me. Jerry and Fred I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Mark and family, My name is Tiffany. It's been a very long time since I have heard Mark's infectious laugh and seen one of the most genuine smiles ever. I fell out of touch with him some time ago. When I was part of his life, he treated me as family. On cold snowy nights at Anthony's he would walk me to my car. I never thought twice that his steps and strength would catch me if I started to fall. He brought me flowers on my birthday and often called just to see how I was doing. His heart was kind and his spirit was full. The obituary is so beautiful and true. God bless you my friend and please tell your angel of a mom "hi" from me. Fred, if by chance you read this I'm so sorry it's been so long. Please call anytime or email. 831-648-3398, 831-915-4599.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mark was always helpful and friendly. I met Mark when I was 16 years old and had a flat tire at Glens. Over the last 15 years we kept in contact. He was proud of his road side assistance and his Sinclair gas / repair shop. He always talked about his mother and how much she meant to him. Mark will be missed by many. Kandace Isom
