Martin Wilson Lowe

July 25, 1955 - April 13, 2014

Martin Wilson Lowe "Marty" (58) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 13, 2014 in the beautiful mountains of Wyoming. He was doing what he loved most; enjoying nature and the adventures it had to offer.

Marty was born to Reed & Anna Ruth Lowe on July 25, 1955 in Montpelier, Idaho. He was an optimistic, busy, fun-loving child who was adored by his sister Donna.

Marty met and fell in love with Annie Dennis while attending Utah State University. They were married on June 7, 1980 in the backyard of Marty's childhood home, Burton Ranch, in Grace, Idaho.

Marty was an incredibly intelligent and driven individual that started his own business, Battery Specialists, in 1979. Marty enjoyed owning his own business especially because it allowed him to work with his children every day.

When Marty wasn't busy at his store he could be found recreating in the great outdoors. He was an active, adventurous and fun-loving man who loved to wind surf, kite board, ski, snowboard, snow kite and snow mobile. His passion for these sports will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Marty will forever be remembered as a generous boss, gifted athlete, loving husband and adoring father & grandfather. He was so proud of his two children, Cassie & Terry, and loved spending time with his grandkids.

Marty is survived by his wife Annie; children Cassie (Ryan) and Terry (Megan); grandchildren Taylor, Aedan, Gabe, Crete & Rafe; his beloved sister Donna (Wayne) Skinner; and many other loving friends and family. Marty was preceded in death by his father Reed, mother Anna Ruth, and step-mother Thola.

A celebration in remembrance of Marty's life will be held on Friday, April 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where complimentary valet parking will be provided on the north side of the building. Please join us to share memories, laughs and tears. In keeping with Marty's laid back attitude casual attire (Hawaiian shirts, flip-flops, etc) is encouraged.

Interment services will be held the following day, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 East Crestwood, Kaysville. A luncheon will be held at the LDS church located at 901 S. Mountain Road in Fruit Heights immediately following the interment.

In accordance with Marty's unending generosity, a memorial fund has been set up in his name (Marty Lowe Memorial Fund) at Wells Fargo Bank in lieu of flowers.

I was so lucky to know Marty, we just had a great laugh last week. Marty was such a genuinely nice person and always asked how my family was doing, he enjoyed life and was always so upbeat and positive that I always left our conversations feeling better about things. We can't imagine how difficult it must be without him. Your Family will be in our thoughts and prayers and we love you all. The Kingdons

I want to send my thoughts and prayers to Annie and the kids and to Donna. I just found out today of Marty's passing. I couldn't help but remember all the fun times I spent with him racing our RC cars and going to Phoenix AZ to race our cars. He truly was a wonderful man and I will miss him. God bless!

I am in shock. I got on facebook today and discovered this. Donna might remember me, I graduated from high school with Marty. We were neighbors and best friends that did a lot of running around together. I am totally shocked and sorry for your loss. What a great man and friend. Man another one of my class mates gone. Good luck to all of you. Thinking of you. Blake Jacobson
