Marvin Mantyla

Marvin Ray Mantyla, 82, Salt Lake City, Utah, left this life to be reunited with his beloved wife in the early morning hours of August 15, 2023.

Marv is survived by his sister Diane Mantyla. His children Lee Ann Greco, Donna Gines (John Stephens),Ron (Donna Payne), Bill (Kathy Payne), Rod(Nancy Payne) and many grand and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his loving bride, Doris “Dee” Mantyla, parents Ray and Clara, sister Marlene, brother Wayne, and daughter Rhonda (Lee Nielson).

Marv married a single mother with five children in the mid-1960s, he saved us, raised us, and he loved us. Marv was a NASCAR enthusiast, he spent much of his life working on and preparing race cars for some of the top drivers in the intermountain region. In his later years, Marv and Dee could be found on most Sundays, resting in their recliners, watching a race on television. His heart had been broken for almost 9 years after Mom’s passing, we are certain his pain was healed as mom welcomed him home.

A family celebration of life will be held at a time that is to be determined.  Rest Easy Hero, Godspeed…
