Mary Anne Cooper
November 12, 1931 - April 10, 2024
Mary Anne Cooper, 92, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024. Like the bluebirds singing and soaring outside her window, Mary Anne's soul took flight.
Mary Anne was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother – and loyal friend who's sunshine and distinct southern charm greatly impacted the lives of everyone who knew her. Always putting others first, no conversation was left without her asking, “Darling, now tell me how you are doing?” Her deceptively piercing sense of humor, old school wisdom, faith and commitment to what she loved most in the world – her family – were felt by everyone who knew her. Her life was a reminder that true fulfillment doesn't stem from grand achievements or material possessions, but from quiet moments of connection, the constant warmth of unconditional love and the peace that comes with embracing life's unpredictable journeys.
Above all else, her proudest accomplishments will always be her 70-year beautiful marriage to the love of her life and best friend, Charles Floyd, her three daughters, her 11 grandchildren, and her 12 great-grandchildren. Mary Anne is survived by her two daughters, Anne Nelson (Brian), Mary Kaye Huntsman (Jon), son-in-law Cary Jones (Kris Hopfenbeck), as well as her 11 grandchildren she adored, and her 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Floyd Cooper, and daughter, Susan Cooper Jones.
Mary Anne's life will forever be a story of profound grace and southern elegance. For those of us blessed to know her, she will always be our guiding light, just like the blue birds in the trees, reminding us to “smell the roses” and live in the moment.
