Mary Carol Carson

December 25, 1937 - March 18, 2026

Mary Carol Carson passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 25th, 1937 to James Andrew Neilson and Hazel Adell Lee. In 1956 she married the love of her life, Larry Rushton Carson. Together they had four children, Angie, Rusty (Sydnie), Jon and Jeff (Debbie).

Mary had a way of giving that felt effortless, as if generosity was woven into her very nature. She offered love, time and comfort. It was simply who she was. She cared deeply – so deeply that she often put the needs of others before her own without a second thought.

Mary was loving, nurturing and full of warmth. The kind of presence that made people feel safe and understood. She showed up for people, supported them and made them feel important. Whether someone needed help, encouragement or just a moment of kindness, she was there. She had a heart of gold. She was genuine, selfless and endlessly compassionate. The kind of heart that leaves a mark on everyone lucky enough to have known her.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren – Stephanie (Kenzi), Mandy (Jesse), Amy (Brock), Mary (Cole), Carson, Larry (Chelsie), Nicole (Ivan), Lexi (Davis), Lauren, and her great grandchildren – River, Mari, Nikko, Ronin, Claire, Faye, Rhyann, Kayden, Kyler, Brooklynn, Blakely, Gauge, Eastynn, Brock and Saige. She cherished every moment that she got to spend with them. They were the light of her life, the joy that brightened her days and filled her heart . Nothing delighted her more than being present for them. School programs, ball games, recitals, graduations, weddings, little milestones and big ones. She celebrated every accomplishment and comforted every disappointment. She built a legacy of love that will echo through generations.

Thank you Angie, Debbie, Stephanie and Kenzi for the extraordinary care and support you gave mom throughout the last few years. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Quality Home Health and Hospice for their compassion and care during Mary’s last few weeks.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 26th at 11:00 AM at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery located at 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106 . In lieu of flowers do what Mary would do…brighten someone’s day with an act of kindness.

We love you more that you will ever know and will miss you every day!

In Loving Memory

Mary was one of the most genuine people I’ve ever known. When she asked how I was doing, you could tell she truly meant it and cared about the answer. Even though we weren’t closely related, our paths crossed more often than I expected, and she always seemed to know what was going on in my life. I will always remember her kindness and how much she cared about others. I only wish I’d had the chance to say goodbye.
