Dear Betty, Your Mom has become a great friend and confidant over these months I have brought her the Eurcharist. She always had a fresh pot of coffee waiting and a special treat of an Italian cookie or other tasty treat after the service. Her assurance of her prayers for us after Michael died, her encouraging words and support, her loving scoldings of going on bravely with courage will always remain with me. I truly was blessed to have had this priviledge of bringing Jesus to her every Sunday. Fr. Pat called her the Salt of the Earth when I told him she was in the hospital. When I told Mary that she gave me such a wonderful smile I just knew she felt proud of such a compliment. Salt of the earth she was and all who knew her knew they had her prayers, her affections, her wisdom, her friendship for life. May you be comforted in the great life of faith, love and service your Mother lived and be assured of her continued love and help until you meet again. My prayers go out to you and your family especially Ed who Mary loved so dearly and was so proud of the choice you made in a spouse. May she rest in peace and may we never forget what she taught us, Love to you and your family Jane.

Betty, We talked on the phone a few weeks ago. I am sorry to hear that your mother has passed so quickly. I hope you find her memory full of happiness and joy. The last time I saw here was at my mother's 80th birthday. She was full of energy and her eyes sparkled. May the Lord bless and keep her close to your heart.
