Together Again

It is with our deepest regrets and heartfelt sorrow to announce that on the 8th Day of April our beloved mother Mary Jean Nelson (Gordon) passed from this earth to join our father Frank A. Nelson Jr.. She was born on May 21, 1926 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Leslie A. Gordon and Trilva E. Dunster. She was the fourth of nine children. (Jim, Calvin ,Maxine, Hilloah, Rioh ,Rhico, Ruth, JoAnn).

She was married to Frank A. Nelson Jr. on March 15, 1944 for 63 years; which was later solemnized in 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Mom was a great seamstress and wanted to be a fashion designer. She loved to play golf and took the initiative to get her pilot's license and loved to fly. Mom's greatest love was her family. She was our safe place and inspiration.

Mary Jean was survived by her five children Linda G. Butler, Rhio D. Ahlin McFarlane (Greg), Rick F. Nelson, Robert C. Nelson, Cidnie L. Sundloff (Steve). She had 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She had 3 great-great grandchildren.
A special thanks to Care Source for the care they gave mom.
A gathering and a celebration of her life will be on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 5:00-7:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. A private family interment will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
