Mary Louise Whitaker Snow
Louise "Weejie" Whitaker Snow, age 90, passed away on Nov. 20, 2012. She was born Jan. 19, 1922, in Kanosh, Utah, to Milton and Ruby Gardner Whitaker and had fond memories of play and hard work with her four brothers on the family farm.
Always looking to improve herself, Louise studied at Branch Agricultural College (now SUU) for two years. In 1943 she married Glenn Swinney, the father of her twin girls. They were later divorced.
In 1952 Louise married Marcellus K. "Dunie" Snow, a judge for the Third District Court of Utah. They had an active social life, and Louise learned to play golf, a sport she enjoyed until just before her death. Their daughter, Lulu Marcella, was born in 1956. Sadly, she passed away in 2003, and Judge Snow in 1978.
Louise was known for her wonderful cooking, integrity, work ethic, positive attitude, and generosity. She lived simply but was so very giving to others. She was always there for us, and we'll miss her every day.
Louise is survived by daughters Dianne (William) Hansen, Centreville, VA, and Suzanne (Richard) Robinson, Cottonwood Hts, UT; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and brother Reed Whitaker, Orland, CA. Her other brothers Spencer, Homer, and twin James Lowell, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Wed., Nov. 28, at noon at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, SLC. Family and friends can visit from 11:00 to 11:45 prior to services. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, SLC.
Many thanks to CareSource for their tender care.
In Loving Memory
I remember the first time I met her. I had come home with Lulu for lunch (we were in 1st grade) and she had been delayed and wasn't able to be at home to fix us lunch before we got there....she came in with individual boxes of KFC for the two of us. It was a FANTASTIC treat for me! KFC for lunch! I thought Lulu was the luckiest kid in the world to have a mom that would furnish such a lunch. But one of my favorite things of hers that she made was her cucumbers in vinegar. She gave me her "recipe" for them, but when I make them, they never taste as good as hers. I've missed going over to her house and playing cards with her and Lulu. Goodbye mom Snow. OXOXOX

The Talbot family sends our thoughts and prayers at this time of your great sadness. I know how she will be missed as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother to our daughter in law Erin and her family. It sounds like she had a very full and caring life.
