Max Arthur Craig
June 30, 1938 - December 26, 2013
The love of my life passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 26, 2013. Max was born on June 30, 1938 to Arthur Bee Craig and Elizabeth Ketter Craig in Iola, Kansas. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Johnson Craig, brother Jim (Anne) Craig and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Dwain and beloved dog Binki. He retired from Hercules.
A surprise “Share the Memories” party for Max was held in our home on December 8. Friends and family came and brought cards and letters sharing their memories of Max. The intent of the party was to honor this kind, humble man. The ambience was one of love, warmth, laughter and camaraderie. Cancer was not invited! The cards were given to Max after the party and he read them over and over. He was humbled and honored that he got to know before he died just how much he was loved and respected, and what an influence he had on many people’s lives.
In honoring his request, there will be no funeral. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Graydon Harker, Dr. Greg Miller and CNS Hospice, especially Carole and Jennifer. My gratitude to all the family, friends and professionals who “circled the wagons” before, during and after.
In Loving Memory

Nancy, we are so sorry to hear of Max's passing. We're both glad we got a chance to visit this past summer in Park City and catch up on all of the old Hercules days. Max was a special person as are you. We will keep you both always in our thoughts and prayers.
