Maxine L. Winters
May 15, 1944 - February 7, 2017
Maxine L. Winters was born May 15th, 1944 to Jack and Eunice Watkins in Midway. On February 7th, 2017 she left the world on her own terms.
Maxine was the first of three children: brother Ken (Linda) Watkins and brother Gary (Kathy) Watkins.
On May 16th, 1970 she married her forever love John Savoy Winters who she stood faithfully by until his death in March 2013.
She was a loving and patient mother with a heart big enough for everyone. She loved many things including painting, gardening and cooking but, mostly John.
Although in pain much of the time, she continued to sacrifice for her family and loved ones.
She is survived by her two children: son Jamie (Vanessa) Winters; daughter Jennifer Winters; and granddaughter Ashlan Winters, who was her joy.
A celebration will be held on Tuesday, February 21 from 6:00-8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, SLC. Friends are invited to attend and visit with the family.
In Loving Memory
Dear Jamie & Jennifer, Brian and I lived next door to you for many years and I remember you both as little kids, as well as growing to young adulthood. Your Mom tended Eric when he was little and I always appreciated her being so good with him. It is hard to have a parent die, and when your last parent dies it seems the world is extra lonely. I miss my folks and feel like an orphan! Brian died last year and it makes my world one of heartbreak. Eric bought the house we lived in when you lived on 1460 West in Taylorsville. I send you my love and sympathy. Death is difficult. Sincerely, Karen Johnson
