Mechell Helen DiAntonio

December 4, 1968 - May 16, 2026

Mechell our Beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin and friend to all. Returned home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 16th 2026.

Mechell, who left this world far too soon at the age of 57 was diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer, then Metastasise Melanoma Cancer. She faced her illness with incredible strength, bravery, and determination. Even through the hardest days, she held onto Hope and showed an inspiring will to live and fight. Her courage touched everyone who knew her and loved her.

Mechell was born December 4th, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Bruce R. DiAntonio and Beverly DiAntonio Busch. She was the 2nd child of 4.

Mechell grew up in Salt Lake City and Kearns Utah. Where she graduated from Kearns High School in 1986 with a full basketball scholarship to the College of Eastern Utah.(CEU). She proudly earned her associates degree in business and management.

Mechell was also an exceptional athlete who loved basketball, baseball, and softball. She was also known for her competitive spirit and determination. Her all time favorite NFL team was the San Francisco 49ers. Her all time favorite athlete was Michael Jordan #23.

Mechell was a very independent woman she accomplished a lot in her life buying her brand new home, which she was so proud of. Working in different occupations and excelling in all. She even got her “CDL” and became a long haul driver for many years.

Mechell was a doting aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She loved her fur babies Jasmine, Sophie Marie, and Shay. All of her fur babies held a special place in Mechell’s heart and life.

Mechell is survived by her brothers Joey (Jodie) DiAntonio, Bruce DiAntonio and sister Feleisha (Brian) Stephensen. Step brothers Steve (Tracey) Busch, Scott (Cindy) Busch. Step sister Jenny (Julie) Busch. Her special nieces & nephews Crystal, Natalie, Joey, Taylor, Kamryn, and Shantell. Also many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Great nieces and nephews.

Mechell shared a special bond with Karen Bryan who loved her as her own, and was truly like a second mother throughout her life.

Mechell is preceded in death by her parents Bruce DiAntonio, Beverly and John Busch, Grandparents Joseph and Marguerite DiAntonio, Arvil Nielson, Alice Nielson, and Wes Fredrickson. Stepbrother, Andy Busch and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.

Mechell leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, laughter, and resilience. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.

‘Loved Beyond Words and Missed Beyond Measure”

Services will be on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, with a Viewing held one hour prior.  Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance on the north side of the building. Graveside services will follow at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E 4580 S, Millcreek, UT.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to the Huntsman Cancer Institution for all their love and care for Mechell.

We also want to thank everyone for their help and support through this difficult time, it is greatly appreciated.
