Megan Nicole Hodges
1983 – 2014
Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter and friend Megan Nicole Hodges passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Salt Lake City. Megan was born on September 23, 1983 in Bountiful, Utah to Ryan Quinn Hodges and Linda Merritt Howell. She attended St. Olaf Catholic School and Judge Memorial Catholic High School where she loved playing softball, soccer and basketball with cherished teammates. After graduating in 2001, Megan attended Utah State University and later participated in the Culinary Arts program at Salt Lake Community College.
Megan lived every moment of her short life to the fullest. She was strong and beautiful, exceptionally loyal and loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She made an impact on every person she knew. The world is a darker place without her contagious smile and caring soul. Meggie, we love you to the moon and back.
Megan is survived by her father Ryan Quinn (Branden) Hodges; mother Linda (Reese) Howell; brother Daks (Kristin) Hodges; sister Madison Hodges; half-brothers Ryken and Brexden Hodges; grandparents Quinn Hodges, Dianne (Jim) Nelson, Winifred Merritt; step-grandparents Reese (Geri) Howell, Gaylene (Jubie) Varoz; and adoring niece Brooke Marie Hodges. Preceded in death by her grandfather George K. Merritt; cousin Hayley Merritt; and other aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her.
A celebration of Megan's life will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. Complimentary valet parking will be provided on the north side of the building.

Dear My Long Lost Second Family, I feel awful that I don't have a better way to reach out to you at such a time, but I wanted you to know how much I feel for your family. Linda, you went to the ends of the Earth for Hobbles, and I know she adored you for it. Hobbles welcomed me into your amazing/fun family with open arms and that is a precious gift I adore and love her for. She opened my world to things I would have never experienced on my own and taught me how to just enjoy life. Hobbles was quick to laugh and first to go out there and just live. While Hobbles is the epitome of Lincoln's quote, ?And in the end it is not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years,? I still feel the world, especially her family and friends, was cheated early of a force to be reckoned with, Megan Nicole Hodges. Love you Hobbles.
