Sandy, UT – Michael Andrew Coyle departed from this life too soon, on April 24, 2025, at the age of 49.
Mike was born and raised in Caledonia, NY. He started skiing at the age of 3 and became an expert skier in no time. He was also very adventurous, growing up in the country, he made lifelong friends that became family.
After college, Mike moved to Utah to ski with his brother. After one season, Mike knew he was where he needed to be. He met his wife Brittney on a blind date in 2001 and they have been together ever since. Although they didn’t marry right away, they did buy a home together and had a long-standing joke about being “Mortgaged” and not married. They did finally marry in 2014, and completed their family with their labradoodle, Bogey.
Mike was active and loved skiing every inch at Snowbird. He also enjoyed golfing, scuba diving, mountain biking, hiking, snowmobiling, and riding his dirt bike.
Mike loved traveling! He and his wife Brittney had many adventures, from the Caribbean to Hawaii, and enjoyed many trips across the country with family and friends.
Mike worked for Kennecott Utah Copper for more than twenty-one years, starting as a laborer and working his way up to Control Room Operator, and worked in other key rolls. He also worked as a Production Line Supervisor at Edwards Life Sciences for five years. Mike always had a desire to be the best he could be at whatever he pursued.
Mike had many friends, and made new friends wherever he went. He was loved by many, a guy with a big presence and personality, that lit a room up when he walked into it.
Predeceased by his father Donald and his mother Ruth, survived by his wife Brittney Coyle, his brother Kevin (Joy Prout) Coyle, his sister Kimberly (Matthew) Keenan, several nephews and nieces, and amazing friends.
A special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Jordan Valley Medical Center that did everything they could in his final days. Also, words cannot express the extreme gratitude for the bravery of the men that came to Mike’s aid. They are true heroes.
A celebration of life will be held on July 10th at Snowbird, UT between the hours of 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, with services starting at 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Hidden Peak (friendsofhiddenpeak.org).
