Michael K. McCoy

September 25, 1970 - April 28, 2022

Michael K. McCoy passed away peacefully in Murray, Utah on April 28, 2022 at the age of 51.  He was born September 25, 1970 in Springfield, Illinois.  He was the eldest child of Billy (Will) and Susan McCoy.

Raised in Cottonwood Heights, he had many friends, playing in team sports, skiing, golfing, a childhood he fondly remembered.  He was always the first up early Christmas morning to put together anything that required assembly.  But, his first love was with computers.  From the first days of computers to today, he could build anything and help anyone with a computer issue.

He graduated from High School in New Jersey and attended Salt Lake Community College, completing a course of instruction for his Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE).

His proudest accomplishment in life were his 4 children, whom he loved very much.  He loved to help them with their schoolwork, and he was proud of their every accomplishment.  He is survived by his daughters Breeana, Alyssa, Kaylee, and son Dyllan.  In addition, he is survived by his parents Will and Sue, brother Brian, sister Mandy (Brandon), nieces Jade (Maurice), Paris, and nephews Brendon and Owen, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents McCoy and Weis, and his niece Mikayla.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E 4580 S, Millcreek, Utah.

Michael lived his life unconventionally and struggled with addiction, which played a role in his shortened life.  We wish him peace in his next journey.  Please feel free to donate to a cause of choice in lieu of flowers.

Mike hired me for my first job when I was 16. We remained friends thoughout the years. My deepest condolences go out to his children. I knew 2 of them because I was also friends with their mother. It was a sad day when I got the news of his passing. My greatest sympathy to all of the family. I wish he would have gotten out of that life before it took his.
