Milton Tyler Halton
April 22, 1968 - July 11, 2023
Milton Tyler Halton suddenly passed away on July 11, 2023 at the age of 55, at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Milt was born in Salt Lake City on April 22, 1968. He was the youngest child of Milton Armstrong Halton and Marilyn Thomson Halton. He attended schools in Salt Lake City and continued his education through training and certification programs across the country. Milt worked as a mechanic throughout his life, beginning in automotive shops. In 1995, he was employed at Deer Valley Ski Resort as a fleet mechanic. After leaving Deer Valley in 2012, Milt explored multiple opportunities in the industry, most notably working for Rasmussen Equipment for many years. In 2023, Milt returned to the ski industry as a fleet mechanic at Park City Mountain Resort.
Growing up with his family and many relatives, Milt was a very fun, happy, and adventurous child, who made many lifelong friendships in his Sugar House neighborhood. He and his friends frequently got together, and sometimes “inadvertently” caused trouble with their ventures. Milt loved being outside and often visited the family cabin near Oakley, Utah. He also loved being outdoors, camping in the wilderness. Milt continued his love of the outdoors by sharing his experiences with family and friends. Milt often took loved ones snowmobiling in the mountains of Utah, and off-roading and camping throughout the intermountain west. He enjoyed spending time and sharing stories with family and friends. Milt was a loving and caring son, brother, and father of three devoted sons. He inspired his boys to have the same passion for the outdoors and spending time with loved ones. Throughout his life, Milt was kind and caring to everyone with whom he crossed paths.
Milt is survived by his mother, Marilyn Halton, his sister, Brenda Wilson, his sons, Nathaniel (Jordyn) Rock, Nicholas Halton, and Matthew Halton, and their mother, M’Lisa Rock. He is also survived by many close aunts, cousins, extended family, and countless friends. Preceded in death by his father, Milton Armstrong Halton.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, July 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E., Salt Lake City. Burial will take place Tuesday, August 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Dr., Salt Lake City.

I'm sorry I won't be able to attend Tyler's service but I'm thinking of his family. I regret not getting to know him more in our adult lives, but as small cousins I have fond memories of playing in their backyard with the unique structures. It sounds like he had the fun Halton genes :)

To Milt's family and friends, we extend our most heartfelt condolences on Milt's sudden passing. Brian, Milt, Jay, Reily and Kenny enjoyed the BMX bike ramp under the tree in front of our house. Great fun!! They were close fun-loving friends. Unfortunately, Milt knocked his two front teeth out during one difficult bike trick. That did not both Milt; he had his teeth fixed and looked as handsome and fit as ever. That's Milt! Milt had amazing mechanical skills, even as a young boy. He helped our Sugar House neighborhood with tough mechanical problems .... quietly and quickly. Milt was a caring and smart little boy and man! We miss and love you Milty!
