Monique Duran

July 23, 2001 - November 14, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monique Duran, who left this world far too soon on November 14, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Salt Lake City. Born on July 23, 2001, Monique touched the lives of many during her brief but impactful journey of 24 years.

Monique was the cherished daughter of Naomi Curiel and a loving sister to Anecia (Ana) and Shayla. She brought joy and laughter into the lives of her family, who will forever remember her vibrant spirit and infectious smile. Monique’s love extended beyond her immediate family to her precious daughter, Mireya, who was the light of her life. Her dedication to motherhood was a testament to her strength and love, and she instilled in Mireya the values of kindness, resilience, and joy.

Monique was preceded in death by her beloved Grandpa DeDe, Dad Allan, Great Grandma Sally, Great Grandpa Joe, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life. Although their absence leaves a profound void, her family finds comfort in the belief that they are watching over them from above.

In addition to her immediate family, Monique is survived by her nephew Azriel and her niece Arianna, who she adored dearly. She also leaves behind her Grams Sharon (Grandpa Larry), Tio Eddie (Tiff) and his children, as well as Tio Marcus (Melanie) and their kids, who were an integral part of her life and shared in her laughter and dreams. And Monique’s significant other, German, stood by her for 3 years.

Throughout her life, Monique demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect with others, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her memory will be forever cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her vibrant spirit and zest for life will continue to inspire her family and friends.

A funeral mass to honor Monique’s life will be celebrated on November 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 S 2200 W, Taylorsville, Utah.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Ave. & “T” Street.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to help contribute to her funeral. The link: [Monique Duran Memorial Fund](https://gofund.me/1c3685004).

Monique Duran may have departed from this world, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
