Our loving mother and grandmother died September 9, 2011.
She was born on March 26, 1923 in Eureka, Nevada to Richard and Clotina Damele Gibson.
She earned her BA from the University of Nevada, Reno where she was a Pi Beta Phi. Nadine married the love of her life James J. Mahoney of New York City on June 12, 1947. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and to caring for her family. She loved to play the piano, was a gifted writer, and loved the wide-open spaces of Nevada.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia (Robert) Ithurralde, Maureen Thiessen; grandchildren Anthony, Kate, Jeremy, Nathan, Joshua, and Matthew.
Preceded in death by her husband James Mahoney and son-in-law Thomas Thiessen.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated privately and she will be laid to rest with her husband at a later date at the Ely City Cemetery in Nevada.
We will always remember her gentle spirit and loving smile, her elegance and grace. If you choose, a donation can be made in our Mother’s name to Sacred Heart Church, P.O. Box 151026, Ely, Nevada.
