Nancy Wallace

October 24, 1965 - July 31, 2023

Nancy Wallace, 57, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died peacefully in her sleep on July 31st, 2023.

Born in Utah in 1965, she built a life for herself in Poland, Maine. She raised three wonderful children, helping her community, and was an active member of extra curricular activities for her children. Nancy could often be found coaching her childrens' sports teams, substitute teaching at local schools, or volunteering for PTA events. Nancy was a prominent figure in her community, she was passionate when it came to working with children with special needs.

In 2016 Nancy relocated back to Utah where she found a passion working on the mens military unit at Salt Lake Behavioral Health. She was seen as a dedicated, fierce, hard working woman who would not hesitate to help someone in need. She will be missed for the love and care that she provided to every single person she met, whether it be a minute of her time or a lifetime.

She leaves behind her life-long love and best friend Ron Ward (Utah), brother Clinton Wallace(Maine) and her children Austin Hayes (Utah), Jeffrey Hayes and Hope Marchessault (Maine), Mikala Hayes and Cameron Michaud (Maine). She is preceded in death by her mother Louise Hodgdon, her father Kenneth Wallace, and her son R.C. Hayes.

Nancy was not only my coworker, but also my friend, work Mom, and a listening ear. She was there for me through some very hard things the beginning of this year, and would always shoot the sh*t with me. Her presence is greatly missed, it's just not the same without her here. My condolences to her children,Ronnie, family, and friends.

I will never forget Nancy. As a patient at the strong hope men's military unit in Utah Nancy was it a huge part of my healing process. She was always so lively and optimistic about life that I can remember. I wish I could've known her longer, but the eight weeks I spent with her at strong hope, in Utah will forever be a warm memory. My condolences to Austin and the rest of her family. I'm sure she will be sorely missed. Matt Lauzon
