“Gramps”
On Sunday, February 2nd 2020, Nick passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Center in Ogden, UT. Our world has forever changed with the loss of our loving husband, father, Gramps, great Gramps, brother and son.
Nick was born on March 27th, 1940 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Nick and Isabel Archuleta. On August 6th, 1963 Nick married the love of his life Rebecca Martinez. Together they had two daughters, Delanie and Stephanie, who he loved with all his heart.
He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where he attended West High School. He loved spending his young life at the boys club, boxing, and playing basketball.
At 23 years old he was drafted into the Army where he served as a Military Police Officer. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the military never left him. Friends and family will remember him for his integrity and kindness, as well as his friendly banter.
Nick retired from Questar Gas in April of 1995. He then worked at Eaglewood Golf Course as a Marshall where he spent many days playing and teaching his grandsons how to golf.
Nick always had a passion for working in his shop, golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family. Nick was a family man through and through. He always put his family first. His humor and love for life was contagious and impacted everyone he came across. There was never a dull moment when Nick was around. He always had a joke ready to go and made sure everybody heard it.
Nick is survived by his wife, Becky; daughters, Delanie (Dwayne) Rigsby and Stephanie Titmus; brother, Leon Archuleta; sister, Judy Archuleta; Grandchildren Kim (Mikus) Zisumbo, Tanner Titmus, Kyle Weloth, Blake (Chelsea) Titmus, and Carly Rigsby; Great grandchildren Mia Zisumbo, Crew Titmus, and Knox Titmus. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Tom, Luke, Ralph, Leland, and sister, Emily.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at George E. Wahlen Veterans Center for their unwavering support and compassion for Nick during the time he was there. He was loved by all who cared for him.
A viewing for Nick will be on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.
