Niloofar Noshiravan Bakhti

March 21, 1954 - October 8, 2025

With hearts full of love and memories, we celebrate the extraordinary life of Niloofar Bakhti, who passed away on October 8, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on the first day of spring—March 21, 1954—in Tehran, Iran, to Dr. Amir Hooshang and Fakhretaj Noshiravan. Niloofar embodied the spirit of renewal, beauty, and boundless energy from the very beginning.

She completed her high school and University studies in Tehran, Iran. Niloofar married Hassan Bakhti and later made a bold and selfless move to Utah in 1982 to help raise her brother’s children. That act of devotion would come to define her legacy: a woman whose love knew no borders, whose generosity shaped generations.

To know Niloofar was to be welcomed into a world of warmth, elegance, and celebration. Her home was a sanctuary of taste and refinement, where every corner whispered of her impeccable eye and every meal was a feast of flavor and love. Her cooking was legendary—lavish Persian spreads, lovingly prepared, that nourished both body and soul.

Niloofar was a woman of many passions. She worked for years at the University of Utah Medical Library, where her intellect and dedication were deeply valued. But her truest joys were found in the vibrant tapestry of life: dancing late into the night with her closest friends, planning weddings and celebrations with flair, and traveling to any place where the sea kissed the shore. Beaches called to her like old friends, and she answered with laughter, sunhats, and stories.

She was the heartbeat of her family—an aunt, sister, and wife whose presence was magnetic. Her nieces and nephews adored her as a second mother, and her friends cherished her as a confidante, a co-conspirator in joy, and a keeper of secrets and traditions.

Niloofar is survived by her devoted brother, Amir Farhang (Joyce) Noshiravan; her beloved sister, Nuschin (Hashem) Towliati, her husband, Hassan Bakhti; and the many nieces and nephews who carry her spirit forward. She now joins her parents and her cherished brother, Amir Homayoon Noshiravan, in eternal peace.

She will be laid to rest in a private interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery. Friends are invited to a celebration of her radiant life on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Niloofar lived richly, loved voraciously, and danced through life with unmatched grace. We will miss her fiercely—and honor her by living with the same bold, beautiful spirit.

Niloofar was a wonderful friend and colleague at Spencer S Eccles Library at the UofU. She was such a big help with my daughter, Miriam's wedding reception. I couldn't have done it without her help. I am so sorry to hear of her passing.

Niloofar was my boss at Eccles for a while, but she always felt more like an Aunt. We swapped stories and endearments- she let me call her "Auntie Niloo" and she was so kind to help me with my wedding. She was warm and wonderful. I'm sure she will be so missed by your family. I am so sorry for your great loss.
