Nina Katherine Falsone
May 4, 1988 - June 14, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we, Nina’s family, announce that Nina Katherine Falsone passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 14, 2024. We all knew and loved Nina for her exuberant passion as an elephant activist, her enthusiasm for her art, and her undeniable courage and strength through the challenges that life brought her. Nina always reminded us to find the joy in life’s simple pleasures, even when it’s just a Coca-Cola (no ice).
Nina will be laid to rest by her family at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, alongside her mother, Jean. A celebration of Nina’s life will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, World Elephant Day, from 5 -8 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building. In lieu of flowers, Nina’s parents, Sam and Petrine, along with their families, kindly ask that you make a donation in Nina’s honor to Elephant Nature Park, an elephant sanctuary close to Nina’s heart. https://www.elephantnaturepark.org/how-you-can-help/
Nina will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and caring staff. We want to thank all of you for your support during this difficult time. Our Nintendo-loving daughter, sister, auntie, and friend is on to the next level. We love you, Nina.
Until we meet again

In Loving Memory
Oh my dear Nina, I loved her so in my Math class as a student in highschool! She was a cheery, positive student who always brightened my day! Hope her family knows that SHE made a difference in the short time she lived on this earth. Her courage, smile, determination helped ME get thru my years teaching w/physical disabilities too! Sincerely, Patty Bergstrom

Gabby and I were devastated to learn yesterday of Nina's passing. Nina was an extraordinary person whose courage, humor and kindness enriched our family and each of us throughout her life. Gabby and Nina found each other as little girls at the JCC, learning from each other, sharing their passion for their American Girl Dolls and just spending time together. Many Nina stories come to mind, but I was thinking especially about the time, when Gabby was in the midst of some tough chemotherapy treatments and was at home alone, desparate for a smoothy from Jambajuice. She must have posted about it because Nina found and set to work immediately to see to it Gabby got her smoothy. Within minutes, it seemed, Sam appeared at the door with the precise smoothy needed. Such a Nina act -- see a problem, and solve it, with love and empathy. The world will be a bit less jubilant without Nina. Our thoughts and love are with you, Sam and Petrine and the whole family.
