Olga Johanna Miniclier
June 10, 1941 - May 7, 2020
Olga Johanna Heuser was born in Bad Tölz, Germany and grew up in the alps with her remarkable Mutti and 2 brothers. Her love of the outdoors, ‘mountain goat’ hiking abilities and capacity to do anything she set her mind to, were shaped during her childhood. She had the extraordinary ability to be fully present in all that she did, taking the time to appreciate and see the details. Her strength of spirit and energy were formidable.
She married the love of her life, Kit Miniclier, in 1963. Through his work with the Associated Press they lived in Kenya, Egypt and travelled throughout Africa, Asia, Europe and the American West. She embraced friends and family with her engaging conversation (in 7 languages), agile mind, and phenomenal cooking. She was known for her remarkable ability to connect with people wherever they lived
They settled in Denver, Colorado in 1976. Her love and commitment to family were unwavering – she created ‘home’ with patience, humor and kindness. Olga built a beautiful casa in Truchas, New Mexico, where she and Kit lived part time going between their home in Salt Lake City, Utah, where their daughter Nadia, son in law Matt, and grandchildren Ian and Andy live.
She was a gifted professional artist, trained at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. Olga’s portraits, landscapes, and impressions of life were recognized with exhibitions and awards internationally. She was a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, and the American Artists Professional League. Her paintings will continue to bring joy and beauty for years to come.
She passed away after a brief battle with COVID19, with her husband Kit by her side. The essence of her gentle humor and generous, loving soul remained despite her journey with Alzheimer’s.
Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, a celebration of her life will be postponed until friends and family can gather.

I have such fond memories of Olga! She always had a warm smile and was a genuine loving, caring person. She was a very talented artist and I am blessed to have a painting she did of our children. Condolences to her family, I’m sure she will be missed.

My dearest friend Olga, my “painting sister” my soulmate on our expeditions out in nature to paint in Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming! How I treasure the memories we shared, so many , so rich and so fun!! We were never “starving artists” thanks to Olga’s wonderfully packed lunches! Thanks for all you taught me Olga, you are forever in my heart and you are sorely missed by me.

Dear Nadia, I've had you and your sweet mom on my mind, so I did a Google search on saw the passing of your mom. I am so, so sorry she was a victim of Covid. This is such a strange, trying time. I'm so sorry we lost connection, I regret that. Life just seemed to get away and before we know it time passes. I was sorry to read of your mom's alzheimers. It is hard to see our loved ones go through it. I have been caring for my mom for 9 years with her dementia. My dear friend, I've thought of you often. I'm sorry this is a time I'm reaching out. I hope you and your family are well. I hope you have peace and sweet memories of your mom. She was a very special lady.

Dear Nadia and Kit, we just learned of Olga's death and we send our condolences. She was a supreme artist and Bill was so pleased to represent her works at Hand Artes Gallery here in Truchas. We missed the summer visit with her but did not realize she was gone. Ironically another Truchas Artist, Judith Hert, died the following week. We will miss her visits. Bill and Margaret

Nadia, I have tried from time to time to reach you and your mom. How sad I am that she is gone! I have the beautiful portraits that she did of my children and they are a treasure. I had hoped some day to see her again but alas that will have to wait. I hope she takes time to greet Ray. He passed away on 6 August 2017 from cancerous brain tumor. Please accept my sincere and honest sympathy. I will always carry you and your beautiful mom in my heart. Much love, sue reddick
