"Patty"

Patty born on April 12, 1936 in Paulsboro, NJ passed away on July 13, 2013 after a quiet fight with cancer. She resided in Salt Lake City since 1976.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was loved by many. She was a hard worker, and worked as many jobs necessary to support her family. Patty made many friends along the way, and positively affected the lives of those with whom she came in contact.

She was an active member of her church and surrounded herself with people that loved her very much. In her retirement she loved to travel with her friends, but her favorite trips were going to visit family in New Jersey, and especially going to visit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patty lived life to the fullest, and was a great example to all of us; she will be missed very much.

She is survived by sons James Anthony (Susy) Smith, Gregory (Andrea) Smith; and daughter Mary Ann (Marc) Thoreson; grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Her parents; two sisters; one brother; and her son Edward Joseph Smith preceded her in death.

There will be a wake to celebrate her life on Thursday, July 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, SLC. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South, SLC.

We would also like to thank all those at Silverado Hospice for the wonderful care that is given to Patty.
