Patricia Aline Papez
Sept. 30th, 1962 – May 21st, 2013

Patricia Aline Papez, loving wife, mother and close friend of many passed away, Tuesday, May 21, 2013, after a strong and courageous battle with cancer. She was delivered into Heaven surrounded by her husband, three children, and parents at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Patricia was born in Los Angeles, California on Sunday the 30th of September, 1962 to John and Marcelle Pazzagli, becoming the first of her French family to be born in the United States. Patricia embraced her heritage, was fluent in French and traveled to France many times with her husband, children and friends. While Patricia was born in California, as a young girl she relocated to Reno, Nevada with her family. After attending and graduating from Wooster High School in Reno, she went on to college at the University of Nevada, Reno where she met her future husband, Jon. In 1985, as newlyweds, her husband joined the United States Navy and Patricia not only supported this decision, but was a true partner in contributing to the success of Jon's career in the Navy. While her husband's Naval obligations often took him far away from home, Patricia's love and dedication to her family was an important reason the couple raised three beautiful, successful children. Patricia would travel the world with her Naval Aviator/Delta Pilot husband, where they met many life long friends who came to know Patricia as the kind, gentle, classy person dedicated to her husband and children.

Patricia, Jon and the kids moved to Park City, Utah in 1994 where Patricia, like many times in her life, became the family ambassador and quickly became friends with many in the Park City Community. While raising her children in Park City, Patricia contributed to the family success by working as Head School Secretary at Jeremy Ranch Elementary School. Her dedication to the Park City Community lead her to return to work at the school for a short time while being treated for cancer.

Patricia loved the Park City area and became involved in scrap booking, skiing, bunco, fund raising and many school related activities. She was an animal lover always having a couple of dogs and cats around to enrich her family's life. Since her passing her dogs Chloe and Cali have been pacing the house looking for her. She was deeply loved by all her knew her, but no one more than her husband Jon. Their love was pure as fresh fallen snow, born of a deep passion and respect for each other. Patricia was a beautiful soul who will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Jon, sons, Neko and Ryan, daughter, Rachel; parents, John and Marcelle; sister, Martina (Dave). She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Jeanne Jimenez and paternal grandparents Mary and Hector Pazzagli.

She is also survived by an extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews who all loved Patricia very much.

A celebration of life mass will be held for all who want to attend on Saturday, May 25th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church located at 1505 White Pine Canyon Rd, Park City, Utah. A reception will be held for all immediately following the mass. She will be interred at the Ely City Cemetery in Ely, Nevada on Thursday, May 30, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in the name of Patricia Papez to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, 2000 Circle of Hope Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112.

My fond memories of Patricia are her in Jon's arms at the Venitian dancing like Fred & Ginger and again in Waikiki at Jon's side. The golden sunset focused on her smile and they were the center of attention. These memories have been with me for a few years and evermore. I hope that other's are as fortunate to remember Patricia and Jon in such wonderful circumstances. Their true personalities shining through.
