Patricia Carol Palmer

April 18, 1963 - September 1, 2021

Patricia Carol Palmer was born April 18, 1963, in Memphis, TN to William and Thelma Cole. Patricia (or Carol, as her family called her) was the youngest of six children, though she shared her birthday with her twin brother Patrick. She spent her formative years in Los Angeles, CA, where she graduated from Lutheran High School and attended theUniversity of La Verne. Carol met and married Troy Palmer, the father of her three children while living in California.

Ever the adventurous spirit, Patricia was able to travel to various destinations throughout the U.S. and Europe, though she and her family ultimately settled in Salt Lake City. There she spent the next 24 years building a life for her family including her three children, Tiffaney (33), Thomas (29) and Taylor (25) and her grandson, Jantzen (3).

Over the course of thirty years, she worked her way up the ranks of the telecommunications industry. She took pride in her professional achievements while continuing to pursue larger goals. Her personal determination was shared by her family and Patricia felt great satisfaction in their accomplishments.

Patricia was a deeply faithful woman who took comfort in her relationship with the Lord. She was a proud member of the Calvary Baptist Church for many years, where she cultivated lasting relationships while volunteering as church clerk and front desk attendant. You would often find her socializing and joking behind the front desk when you walked into Calvary on a Sunday morning.

Patricia was very colorful and creative; she would regularly venture out on shopping trips in search of unique finds. She found joy in the happiness of others and often surprised people with gifts. She motivated everyone in her sphere to be the best version of themselves. She was a generous woman who offered sound advice to any who cared to ask; she encouraged her loved ones to pursue opportunities for growth in all aspects of their life.

Patricia Carol Palmer was a woman of grace, compassion, integrity and tenacity. She blessed our lives until she passed the morning of September 1, 2021. She is loved and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her children: Tiffaney Palmer, Thomas Palmer and Taylor Palmer, grandchild: Jantzen Palmer, brothers: Michael Cole, Jon Cole and Patrick Cole, and sisters: Anita Cole and Joan Cole along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends near and far.

Services to celebrate the life of Patricia Palmer will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 South State Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. The viewing begins at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.

For those wishing to attend services virtually, please return to this site on Saturday, September 11th just before 11:00 AM where a “Watch Service Live” button will appear and livestream will begin. To the Cole Family Carole was a truly amazing person. Through our years together @ LHS we were frequently in the same class where we learned much about each other.  I knew she was driven from the time we met, always keeping a smile on her face and a word of encouragement in her heart.  She was most certainly a good one that will be missed and never forgotten.  May God keep each of you during this time and in the days ahead.   Marshall Anthony  LHS Class of '81

My condolences to the entire family. I met and worked with Patricia for many years in Seattle until she relocated to Utah. Patricia had a strong work ethic, she was very knowledgable and always willing to assist others. In recent months we spoke often about retirement in the near future. Her sweet soul will be etched in my mind forever. May you find comfort in the days ahead knowing Patricia is resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord. Rest in heaven dear friend. "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted" (Matt. 5:4)

Condolences to the Palmer Family, Patricia was a valued member of our work team.  She was reliable and knowledgeable, and was happy to help and share her knowledge.  We always discussed our experiences, and how our work lives had changed over the years.  Retirement was always part of our conversations, and its very sad that she was taken before she was able to enjoy the fruits of all her years of hard work.  Patricia will be missed.  Another Angel in heaven to watch over us.

I am so saddened to hear that Patricia passed.   She was a sweet person, dedicated co-worker, and encouraging saint to those who spent any time around her.   She was one of the hardest working individuals I have had the blessing to be around, and know that she will be missed by family and friends.   Prayers for strength and hope for the future to Patricia's children and extended family.
