Patricia Eileen Bonheur

July 5, 1936 - September 2, 2023

Patricia was born on July 5, 1936 in Glendale, California to Mildred and Victor Moran. In her early years she loved the beaches in Southern California and would go often with her friends. She also loved to swim and was in a water ballet group that performed in the Los Angeles area. She graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in January 1955. After graduation she immediately went to work at the Los Angeles Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and retired from the bank in 1991.

While living in SoCal and working at the Federal Reserve, she had four children. Patricia raised them in a small house in West Covina with help from her mother, Mildred. Her work had a policy that women had to quit when they became mothers, and they would only hire them back up to three times. Patricia managed to win them over to hire her back five times despite the rule. She had this effect on everyone and was admired by all.

Patricia met and fell in love with her husband Edward Bonheur in 1988 and they were married in September 1990. They were together as a couple for 33 wonderful years with a great blended family. She moved to Salt Lake City in 2000.

Her favorite activities included involvement in the Newcomers Club, Cheers, Red Hat Club, community theater and UTE football. She was an avid reader of all genres. Not a hard-cover book enthusiast, she preferred reading on her iPad and had an extensive library of e-books.

Patricia loved to travel and cruise. Being of Irish heritage, she loved anything Irish and enjoyed a trip to Ireland. Other trips she enjoyed were to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria and a tour through Spain. As an experienced cruiser she enjoyed cruises to Alaska, Baltics, Caribbean, Europe, Greece, Hawaii, and many cruises to Mexico.

Her smile was her calling card, beautiful and glamourous, and her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.

On Saturday, September 2, 2023, Patricia Eileen Moran Bonheur, our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully from complications of pulmonary fibrosis. She was in hospice care at St. Marks hospital. Patricia is survived by her husband Edward, daughters Lauren, Cheryl, Pamela, Deborah, Cheri and sons Robert and Gregg plus 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many other family members. She will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of her life will be on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance on the north side of the building.

In Loving Memory

Pat was such a special lady. Always upbeat and with a smile and kind word for everyone. Dedicated to her family. I know you will miss her greatly. She will be in the graceful bird singing in your tree, the autumn leaves floating to the ground. She will be with you.
