Paul Edward Lowell
April 8, 1964 - September 17, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a husband, father, and one-of-a-kind friend, Paul Edward Lowell. Originally from the white sand beaches of Pensacola, Florida, Paul settled near the mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah, where he lived an active and adventurous life. We will miss Paul’s relentless joy, captivating smile and zest for moving fast whether on two wheels or four.
Paul (aged 59) died peacefully September 17, 2023, among a circle of loved ones, from complications of a heart condition. He is survived by his wife Crystal Lowell and two children Jake (age 23) and Jordan (age17) his younger brother Douglas (Theresa) Lowell, his sister’s Debbie Orr and Tina Lowell. Sister in law Tanya Lowell. Cousins Cheryl Howell, Karla, Cindy and Tera and nephews and nieces Devon, Shelby, Shannon, Samuel, Lydia, Anna, Krystal, Brian and Miles, Josh, Kristen, Mackenzie, Michael, Braydon and Ziad and many many friends that he loved dearly. Paul was preceded in death by Edward Lowell(Father) Martha Lowell(Mother) and William Lee Lowell(Brother).
In Utah, Paul cultivated his love for speeding along trails, snowboarding in the trees and fishing on alpine lakes. A fervent mountain biker, he made frequent trips to Moab which brought him close to the sandstone dips and turns he enjoyed. Spotting a line on a trail with friends and family, sharing stories, laughing and stopping to take in the beauty and stillness of the desert. Paul loved spending time with his wife and kids. He loved taking them on his adventures, showing them everything he loved to go see.
Paul also had a love for working on cars which led him to the Motion Picture Industry doing their picture cars used on sets and working as the Transportation Captain on several popular films such as “Good Luck Charlie-Christmas Special”, “High School Musical”, “World's Fastest Indian”, “Yellowstone”, “The Chosen” and most he recently finished “Horizon”.
Paul was a storyteller. His tales were often about cherished moments – building cars with his father, wrestling a fish out of the water, speeding down the highway in his restored Comet and beach and mountain escapades. His joy found in life’s small moments were infectious to anyone who listened. Those stories and his laughter will live on in our hearts.
Paul left us too soon. He still had so much to teach us and his children.
Lost is a remarkable father, husband and friend, however the universe has gained a star. And as we look towards the heavens on our own adventures, we know he is there guiding us along the trail – laughing alongside us, and reminding all of us to live fully every day, just as he did. Shine bright Paul, our world is dimmer without you.
And the doors are open now
As the bells are ringing out
'Cause the man of the hour
Is taking his final bow
Goodbye for now.
—-Pearl Jam, lyrics from the song ‘Man of the Hour’

I don't know what to say, but I do remember that you were my best friend in middle school and I'm glad we reconnected a few years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Paul. May God bless you and comfort you through this time of grief.

My deepest condolences to Paul's family and friends. I'm a long time friend of Paul's from Pensacola, we worked together at the Pensacola News Journal back in the early 80's. We had great times together, but we lost connection along the way, I kept up with him on FB, and was trying to plan a trip to catch up with him, but it never worked out, and I'm devastated now that it didn't. I will miss him, he was definitely one of a kind, and had the baddest hot rod in Pensacola, loved that Comet!! RIP my dear friend, another good person taken way to early. Prayers to his family. ❤️
