Peggy B. Heiner
November 19, 1930 - March 1, 2019
Our Angel Mother
Peggy Beatrice Dawson Heiner died March 1, 2019, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had the heart of an angel and after 88 years of spreading her wings on earth, she has left us to join those loved ones that departed before her.
She was born November 19, 1930, to William Clyde Dawson and Katherine Ophelia Jolly in Salt Lake City. She is survived by her children, Debbi Beckstead (John), Bill (Cindy), Kathy Nordberg (Leonard Esparza), Jill Hoopiiaina (Mark), Michael (Stasya); 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Lenice Dawson. She was preceded in death by her husband William W. Heiner; sons Neal and Kenny; granddaughter Amerie Nordberg; and brother Clyde Dawson.
Peggy raised seven children and was the anchor for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very close to her family. In addition to the love and support she received from her family, she found the energy and strength that allowed her to stay in the family home for 64 years. She was non-judgmental, kind, strong and accepting of everyone. When you were in her presence she made you feel safe and loved. She was a master at putting others before herself. She never spoke unkindly of anyone. Mom was fun. Her laugh was unforgettable because of the sweet and joyous sincerity that came deep from within her heart.
In addition to her family, she enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and you could always see her at the race track around the horses with Bill. She had a love for dogs and her trusted companion Jack the Schnauzer was always by her side. She and Bill were snowbirds in Arizona for many years, where they made many friends. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her longtime friends, her sister-in-law Lenice and especially her life-long best friend Lois Cronin.
We are grateful she is now with her husband of over 60 years, her two sons and grand-daughter. She was blessed by the care of her children and grandchildren the last two years, especially Jill and Bill who tended to her in her declining health. The family is appreciative of the kind care of her cardiologist, Dr. Poorna Nalabothu and Canyon Home Health Care and Hospice.
