Philip O. Luke

April 6, 1938 - May 26, 2022

Our Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle, and loving friend to many has now returned home to his Heavenly Father.

Philip Odeen Luke was born April 6, 1938, in Junction, Utah, to Alton and Wilma Luke. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology in 1960. After 34 years working in the Aerospace industry with Hercules Inc., he bought a motorhome and traveled the

United States (covering all but 3 states) and most of Canada. Phil resided in Palm Desert, California for many years before deciding to move back to Salt Lake City to spend his golden years with family. Phil enjoyed his retirement which included going to the gym, watching BYU and Jazz basketball (often via recording after he found out if they won) and family gatherings. Phil was loved and adored by all that he encountered; this gentle soul will live on in all our hearts for eternity.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Bobby, Craig, and Garth. Survived by his sister Marlyn and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the parking on the north side of the building. A funeral service for Philip will be on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor. He will be laid to rest following the service at Elysian Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Salt Lake City.

In Loving Memory

Uncle Philp was a beloved son to grandma Luke. He was so tender and kind to our dear grandma. We always knew she was being taken care of. Some of my greatest memories are Uncle Phil bringing grandma to Oregon. He will be greatly missed but I know the reuion with his dear mother was glorious.

My sweet beautiful kind Uncle Phil. We are going to miss your wonderful sense of humor, your family stories, your side dishes at family gatherings. You have had such an amazing life and we are so lucky you choose to share your final years with us. I treasure every moment, every conversation...every laugh. RIP...by the way I left a few notes and photos in the pocket of your tuxedo ;) xoxo

Every family deserves and should have an "Uncle Phil".  We were so fortunate and lucky to have Uncle Phil in our lives and in our family.  He was seriously the kindest, most generous, giving and loving man I know.  He loved his family and was proud of his heritage.   We will miss him greatly, but know that he is with many loved ones on the other side and enjoying the huge reunion with those loved ones who were there to welcome him home.  I will miss his Face Book posts and his political opinions. LOL!   Rest in peace, Uncle Phil.   Love you!
