Phillip Varoz

Phillip I. Varoz was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 2, 1961 to Ben and Sylvia Varoz. He was raised in Kearns, Utah with five siblings: Yvonne, Anthony (Cindi), Julie, Andrew and Ralph. He married Traci Lee Lund in 1989, later divorced. Phillip completed his earthly mission on January 26, 2015.Phillip was a master gardener, an avid reader, a poker playing fool and had a passion and deep love for all animals. He had a great love and knowledge of his Savior and contributed his life “To my strong Christian faith and belief in the great glory of the redeeming Savior, Jesus Christ.” 

Phillip is survived by his mother Sylvia Schick; his children Jennifer Lynn Ramsey (Jaquan), Nickolas James Lund (Whitney), Daniel Joel Lund (Cindy Lou), Brandon Brent Lund and Brandi Lynn Byrd; and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father Ben Varoz.

Please join us in a celebration of his life on Friday, January 30, for a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, where a vigil will begin at 7:00 PM, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 East Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, at 10:00 AM., also at St. Thomas More. The burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave T Street, Salt Lake City.
