Phyllis Marie Accardi Davis
July 18, 1947 - May 20, 2022
Departed from us on Friday May 20th 2022 in the early morning hours of natural causes sprinkled with a little lung cancer. She was two months away from her 75th birthday. She was born on July 18th 1947 in Staten Island, New York to her parents Joseph and Lillian Accardi.
Not long after having children she left New York to come out west to Utah to raise her children and start a new life. She was an amazing mother of four boys and an uncounted number of unofficial orphans that she verbally adopted throughout the years. She was everybody's mom and accepted everyone that walked through her door as family. (unless you got on her bad side and then it was a grudge till you made amends)!! Mom really did love everyone and would help anyone in need. As a single mother for most of her life, she literally worked her butt off every single day whether it be 7-11 or baking cakes, whatever it took to give us the best life she could. Mom was incredibly thoughtful & generous, she'd give the shirt off her back if you needed it. Mom loved Christmas and would do her own Sub for Santa just to make sure they had a good Christmas. Mom was a great cook! She enjoyed baking & cooking countless Italian meals for her family. She was an amazing cake decorator and made about every wedding cake for all the weddings she went to, not to mention her famous cannolis. She was artistic in so many ways. Mom was an avid movie buff and taught all her children and grandchildren about her love of movies and comedy. If you knew Mom in any way, you knew she was a jokester and always told jokes. She was just tough as nails and never took crap from anyone. Stubborn to her last days, but that's how she was and we all loved her for it. Mom made many friends everywhere she went, she had that magnetic personality that people were just drawn to. She had so many other talents and hobbies too, such as; astrology, costume decorations, makeup artist, best listener, the list just goes on.
Mom leaves behind her brother Joseph Anthony Accardi Junior and his wife Diane Accardi, both of whom she loves dearly. Countless happy stories between the two of them growing up, Uncle Joe, as we all know him says she's the best big sister you could have ever asked for. She also leaves behind her four sons and their spouses John Davis, Annette Davis, Eric Davis, Lisa Hjorth, Bill Moore, Deirdre Moore, Cory Accardi & Marianne Accardi, 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her dog Duke, and cat Paisley, along with the many self adopted children over the years, plus all of the wonderful loving nurses that took care of her for the last few years that she grew close to. I would say she was the BEST mother, sister, grandma, friend, cook, therapist, healer, and overall everything you could ever ask for! She was a gift to this world and to all of us and will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed! “Fino al nostro prossimo incontro, Dio ti benedica.” (In Italian) till we meet again may God bless you!)
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 25 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane.
