Our beloved mom, sister and aunt left us suddenly on Wednesday June 24, 2009. Phyllis was born in Salt Lake City to Norman and Leola Stapley.    

 

Phyllis was married to Jerry Simmons, December 1, 1967.  She worked as a nurse for 35 years at St. Marks Hospital and was highly regarded as a mentor and teacher.  Phyllis was always seen with a smile on her face.

 

She is survived by her son David of Salt Lake City; brothers Paul (Laura) Stapley of Salt Lake City, Ron (Sherry) Stapley of   Phoenix, Arizona and sister Judy (Robert) Walker of Phoenix, Arizona.

 

Preceded in death by her son Michael and her husband.

 

A viewing will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City on Tuesday, June 30th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. followed with a graveside service in Farmington City Cemetery, 500 South  200 East, Farmington, Davis County, Utah

at 11:00 a.m.

I am remembering the many times I worked with Phyllis at St. Mark's, and I cannot recal ever seeing her without a smile and a kind word for everyone she came in contact with. What a great example for all of us. We will miss her influence.

I worked with Phyllis for 30 Years at St. Marks Hospital , I am so sad that she is gone..She was my Special Friend..Phyllis was always at work no matter what...She always had that big Beautiful Smile for everyone, her Kindess and Caring was felt by everyone in the Hospital.. Phyllis was an Angel here with us, and she will be a True Angel with Our Heavenly Father... She will Surely Be Missed ! Cherish all the Beautiful Memories, and she will be in your Hearts Forever !!
