Ray Gary Phibbs, PhD
March 19, 1940 - October 18, 2013
Ray passed away peacefully on October 18th, 2013 at the age of 73, after having a massive stroke. Ray has been a resident of Sierra Vista Arizona for 31 years, he moved to Sierra Vista from Santa Ana California in 1983. Ray was born in Salt Lake City Utah on March 19th, 1940 to Clara Brown Phibbs and Ray Phibbs. In 1972 Ray earned his PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Utah. Ray was very involved in the arts community of Sierra Vista including Limelight productions, the Sierra Vista Symphony and the Illegitimate Theater Company.
Ray is survived by his wife of 44 years Barbara; daughter Cristin; son Michael (Natalie); grandson Bryan; and sisters Dee Ek and Gayle Knight.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 2nd from 5 to 7 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City UT. Please take advantage of the complementary valet parking on the north side of the building.
