Rea Anderson Taylor
March 29, 1938 - November 29, 2024
On November 29th, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed from this realm to be reunited with her precious husband and son who preceded her in death.
She was born on March 29th 1938 In Altonah Utah to Leland and Thressa Anderson. She married her sweetheart, Robert Taylor, on August 22nd 1958 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple and raised seven children in Holladay Utah and abroad: Sheri (Pete) Jensen, Susan (John) Paulk, Robert Lee Taylor deceased, Scott (Michele deceased) (Gwen) Taylor, Raquel Taylor, Stacy (Guy) Itow, Stephanie (Vince) Martinez. They have 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Mom always had an exceptional ability to nurture and love. She loved her husband, kids and grandkids unconditionally and shared that love freely. Mom always extended a kind hand and a warm smile to all those around her. To know her was to love her. Our home was always open to those in need and she found joy in serving others regardless of their circumstance.
Mom was a woman of great faith. No one doubted her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served faithfully in her church callings, and together with her husband, served a Church Educational System mission to the Dominican Republic, and later in life they served a Church Service Mission to the Spanish Branch in Roosevelt Utah.
Mom was blessed with a creative touch. Through her hands and heart, she used her talents to teach and bless the lives of others. Mom was always known to have a project or craft in process or dreaming up the next big thing.
Mom’s wish was to have an informal social gathering to celebrate her life rather than a solemn, formal funeral. We invite you to gather on Friday, December 13th between 6:00pm and 8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East in Salt Lake City, to join the celebration. She requested an open mic forum. All are welcome to share a story or memory in her honor. Guests are encouraged to use the parking on the north side of the building. Interment and dedication of the grave will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 10:00am at Holladay Cemetery located at 4900 South Memory Lane.
The family would like to thank Siu ‘Alone, Jennifer Park at Bristol Hospice, and Starks Funeral Parlor for their special care of our loved one. In lieu of flowers you are welcome to make a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Mom’s name.
In Loving Memory
Mama Rea you were always so sweet to us. I wish we could have known you much much longer. The stories Quel told about your travels, living abroad. Even just the few years we knew you we sensed your fierce energy. Hopefully we can hold a candle to you and love life and our family like you did.
