Rena H. Condas
February 2, 1935 - December 4, 2022
Rena passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, in the loving arms of her daughter-in-law Stephanie; after a fall at home which eventually led to her death. Rena was born February 2, 1935 in Rethymnon (Crete) Greece. After graduation high school Rena had big plans to go to Athens and work in an office and attend college in order to be a Nutritionist. Unfortunately 1950’s Greece wasn’t ready for a woman with so much ambition. After her attempt in Athens she came back home to Crete and soon found herself in Salt Lake City, Utah engaged to marry one of the most amazing men in the world, Harry P. Condas. Rena was a very humorous lady but much like Don Rickles or Sam Kinison, you either were deeply offended by her or you were falling over in your chair with laughter and loved her.
Rena is survived by her children and grandchildren. Her sisters-in-law Margaret Ellis and Tessie Condas. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry P. Condas. Her brother’s Yorgos Hanidis and Andreas Hanidis. And her brothers-in-law Jack Ellis and John Condas; sister-in-law Marily Condas. First and for most one cannot simply express in words the extreme gratitude for the love, support and care provided to Rena throughout the years by Stephanie Pezely, her daughter-in-law. Thank you to the whole Pezely family for their support over the years as well.
A Graveside service will be on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and N Street, Salt Lake City.
The family asks in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the ASPCA.
May your memory be eternal, dear sister, worthy of blessedness and everlasting memory.
In Loving Memory
I'm so sorry for your loss, Ted. I know this has been hard for you. You and your mom were so close. But, I also know that you can take comfort in knowing that she is with your dad now. I enjoy your friendship at the Sinclair.
