Ricci James Martin

September 20, 1953 - August 1, 2016

Our dad is funny, out-of-control-hysterical, sweet, supportive, enthusiastic, a kid at heart, a gentleman, Mr. Cool, and our favorite person with whom to hang.

We truly loved and admired Ricci. We will miss his brilliant sense of humor. the twinkle in his eyes and the smile that would beam so bright when speaking of his girls. His life was cut short yet was truly rich to have all of you in it. He was blessed and will be in our hearts forever

Annie,Pepper, Montana and Rio Dean, I am so sorry to hear of Ricci's passing. I am just a lady that happened to be at the Festa Italiana last year in the audience during his wonderful performance. I was also very fortunate to be one of the members of that audience that he came down off the stage to talk to. I was also very lucky to have received a kiss on my cheek from him. I had told him about my mom saying when her time came to pass away, that she had two men in heaven that she wanted to be kissed by. My family and I thought for sure our dad would be one, but oh no, my mom wanted a kiss from Elevis Presley and Dean Martin. she passed away and I am sure she got those kisses, and now I bet she even received a kiss from Ricci. I could have listened to him perform all night, he was such a kind, loving and good looking as his father. May all of you find comfort in knowing how much he was loved, and May God Bless You All!❤️

Girls, I think of your father with great fondness and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I shared many laughs with Ricci during the years that Pepper and Kendall went to elemenatry school together. Your father was always generous with his time and talents. I remember Ricci having Pepper and Kendall's elementary class into the recording studio to record a song and then producing it so that all the families had a copy. He also volunteered to be the emcee at the school auction and was generous with his support of the school. I have many memories of chatting up with your father in his matching sweatsuit in school parking lots, during school activities or when the girls would play together. He was always full of laughs and kind words and was one of the few dads that picked up and dropped off his kids at school. I also loved going to see him perform at the Egyptian Theater and was blown away at his professionalism and talent and just loved watching him perform and hearing him sing his dad's old songs. May you rest in peace, Ricci. Much love and peace to your family. Love, Karen M

Your dad was my neighbor at the beach in Malibu for over a decade and I'll always remember him as a cool, sweet, kind, and funny man. He was such a talented musician and it was fun to go see his shows at clubs in Venice and in the Valley back in the day. Deepest condolences to Ricci's family. He'll be in so many hearts forever.

Annie, Pepper, Montana, and especially Rio, I am truly saddened at your loss. He and I shared a brief moment I wanted to share with each of you. Your dad was checking Rio into the start of 6th grade at Ecker Hill. When I told him how much I loved his dad's music, he told me his dad was his hero. He smiled when I said, "My cattle rancher Wyoming father was my hero and still is my hero." Your dad's legacy lives forever in each of you, and his love for you will never diminish. Nancy Schulthess PS. I still love you Rio.

Annie, Pepper Jazz, Montana and Rio Dean- We are so very saddened to hear of Ricci's passing. What an incredible man he was. I remember Pepper arriving for her first day of school with her own entourage. And every arrival at school after that was just as exciting with most members of your fun-loving family along, enjoying every moment. I love that the photo you chose of Ricci was from those years when all the girls were young, and that was always the look on Ricci's face. He was generous, kind, thoughtful and full of life. He had more enthusiasm to share than about 10 other people put together. When asked about my fondest teaching memories your family pops right into my mind.I am grateful I got to know Ricci and he will always be in my heart. As will your family. Namaste' Duna
