Richard Carson Peasley

May 20, 1948 - May 15, 2021

Richard Carson Peasley of Lake Havasu, Arizona, passed away May 15th, 2021. Born May 20, 1948 to Virginia and Robert Peasley. Richard was a graduate of Davis High class of 1966 as well as The Salt Lake Community College with an Associates Degree in Business. He attended Weber State where he studied for a music degree. During his studies he was informed he would be drafted for the Vietnam War so he voluntarily joined the Air Force and was chosen for the prestigious position of Trumpet Player in the Air Force Band. Richard flew across the country playing TAPS for 363 Vietnam War Heroes where he earned the distinguished Service Medal. 

On April 9th, 1971, Richard married Joy Oakley. Richard worked for the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed playing the trumpet, snowmobiles, jet-ski’s, reading magazines, watching sports and sci-fi movies. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved motors, shining up his cars, tools, and body building.

Survived by his best friend; Joy Peasley, daughter; Tiffany Nelson, sister; Barbara King, three grandchildren; Andrew and Jenna, Melody, and Kyle Nelson and great grandchildren; Alexander and Ric Nelson. Niece; Elizabeth King, nephews; Tony and Nick King. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Virginia Peasely and his son Kyle Carson Peasley. 

Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, May 28th from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor located at 3651 South 900 East SLC,UT. Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance on the North side of the building. A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.
