Richard Lee Pittam

June 28, 1960 - September 20, 2025

Richard Lee Pittam was born on June 28, 1960, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, to Robert and Sharon Pittam.

He was the proud father to Kyle and Robert T., and a beloved Papa to his best buddy, Timothy Richard.

Richard was a fierce and loyal friend to all he encountered. He loved hearing people’s stories, learning about their lives, and sharing his own in return. He was passionate about his work as an architect, forming close relationships with many of his clients, who often became friends.

He loved to cook, hunt for fossils in the Wyoming desert, ride motorcycles, sip good whiskey, and spend time with his family and many, many friends.

Richard is survived by his father, Robert Pittam; his children, Kyle (Dustin) and Robert T.; his grandson, Timothy Richard; his brother, David (Becky); and his sisters, Treva (Leonard) and Christine. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Pittam.

We will miss his boisterous laugh and his larger-than-life personality. He was so deeply loved and will be missed tremendously.

In lieu of flowers, our family asks that you pay it forward, tip generously and be a friend to all. We would also like to thank the incredible staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute for their compassionate care.  “And as I sit upon my cloud, And look down at the earth, I’ll watch you use my worldly goods, For festival and mirth, And that will make me smile a smile, And have a laugh quite hearty, To hear you say, the bugger’s dead, Let’s have ourselves a party!” –Last Will And Testament by Will Scratchmann

The family will hold a private wake for Richard.

In Loving Memory

I knew Rich from Emerson and went to SLCC with Chris. He was a good friend and a great guy. I am so sorry for your loss and pray for your family. May warm memories comfort you and the love you shared bring peace.

I think of a family reunion with Rich in the middle of the young people. He brought joy to our family. I wish we had lived closer so I could have experienced more of his sparkling personality and loving spirit. Rest in peace!
