Richard “Rick” Provence
March 9, 1954 - October 28, 2018
We are sad to announce the passing of Rick Provence age 64. He left this portion of his life on Sunday, October 28, 2018 in Murray, Utah after an auto-pedestrian accident in Ogden, late Saturday night.
Rick was born in Ogden, Utah on March 9, 1954. He grew up in Buena Park, California. He attended Walter Knott Elementary, LaPalma Jr. High School, and Savanna High School. Rick always had a life of music and played the Baritone in junior and senior high school. He was the band president for the Savanna marching band. Ricks love of music allowed him to be part of many bands (playing guitar or bass). Practicing in the garage at his parents house would attract neighbors to the driveway. The performance bug bit him good and he kept music with him all his life.
Soon after high school he married Cheryl Wheatley. She was his high school sweetheart. The marriage was short. Rick then met and married Marle Card and had two daughters; Lindsay and Kelsey. Rick later met and married Debra Niles and they had two sons; Skyler and Riley. Debra also had three children from a previous marriage who were Sarah, Rebekah, and Micah.
Ricks passion for music kept him going and a love of baseball was not far behind. He had a heart of gold and died participating in what he loved.
He is survived by all of his children; sisters and brother; Kelly Bliss, Robert Provence and Susan Northridge.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Sugar House Park, 1330 East 2100 South, Sugar House. The celebration will take place at the Mount Olympus Pavilion located by the “Baseball Diamond” in the park.
