Richelle (Shelly) Lean Horsley

Richelle (Shelly) Lean Horsley, born on June 24th , 1969 in Salt Lake City. She was tragically taken from us on June 22, 2017 in Taylorsville, Utah at the age of 47. 

Shelly Horsley is survived by her mother, Linda Nordsven (Don) of Centerville, Utah; Father, Ted Horsley (Cindy) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Grandmother, Eleanor Mallard (Richard) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Brother, Brad Horsley (Michele) of Bountiful, Utah; Sister, Stacey Hansen (Jeff) of Lodi, California; Brothers Steve and Mike Nordsven of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Brother, Eric Richins (Becki) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Sister, Jennifer Richins (Eric) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Nieces and nephews Josh Horsley (Ophelie), Jaydn Meier, Laurie Steadman (Josh), Krystal Atwood (Maya), Paul Atwood Jr, Justin Horsley (Laci), Kevin Horsley, Danny Horsley, Tyler Nordsven, Jaden Burningham, Jaxxon, Journee, and Karter Richins; Aunts, Uncles, and cousins Geri Main, Tammy Nesi, Monty Main (Kim), Howard Goodenough (Joan), Suzie Goodenough, Tricia Pollock (Tom), Jodi Goodenough (Jason Pate), Glenda Young (Terry), Troy Young (Branden), Terri Young(Deneb), Heather Goodenough 

Shelly was preceded in death by her Grandpa, Grant B Horsley and Grandma Zora Louise Horsley (Richins), Grandpa Glen Goodenough, Uncle Danny Ray Goodenough, Cousin Clint Young, Cousin Jerry Lawson, and Uncle Mont Main.

There was no definable length to the love she gave to friends, family, and strangers alike. Shelly chose to be cremated for the pure desire to give a little bit of her undying love to anyone and everyone. She wanted the world to share her love and, if she had it her way, have no tear ever fall, no man or woman ever be afraid, no child ever hurt, and no animal ever abandoned. Her infinite energy is now peace and love flowing through all our hearts to never be forgotten or unfelt. 

As described before, Shelly is sunshine in everyone's hearts. She is the soft, warm beams of light touching our souls. Like the sun, her love embraced all, whether they wanted it to or not. No one could see her bright welcoming smile or hear the contagious laugh and keep a frown on their face. At every party the family threw, she was there showing off her gorgeous smile while watching it spread throughout everyone effortlessly – it spread just as easily as her laugh and she knew it. Much like her intense and endless love, she was also incredibly funny. Every sentence was either the beginning of a joke or the punchline – sometimes both. 

Shelly's comedic personality started off at day one. Her entire life she was the joker, and she and her siblings were always causing laughter everywhere they went – from Shelly's grumpy mornings where she would retreat behind cereal boxes to hide from the world, to Brad's fart cup where he attacked Stacey first, which sparked mischief in them both to go for Shelly next. Young Shelly's favorite smell seemed to be barbecue, since she discovered that by farting in her green overalls, caused a delicious BBQ scent that she smelled until she was most likely high on the fumes. There was never a time in this woman's life where she couldn't make someone laugh until they were in tears. 

As we grieve for the loss of this unworldly girl, we must keep the happiness she always provided us close to our hearts and use it to guide us through this darkness and keep us walking forward. We must continue to laugh and love and strive to be better versions of ourselves, just as Shelly always did. 

A celebration of her life will be on June 30th from 6-8pm at Stark Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building.
