Ricky Dean Rodriguez

July 16, 1958 - November 28, 2019

Rick was born July 16, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard and Rita. He was the only boy to 5 older sisters. Growing up, Rick enjoyed all sports and liked to stay active. He attended West High and Brighton High school.

Rick was a hard worker. He started his career working for his father in concrete. The traits he learned helped him establish his own concrete and excavating companies. He was always willing to help anyone that needed help with numerous projects.

His favorite place was Lake Powell. He spent many vacations there, with family and friends. He loved all water sports and loved to “show off” his skills. He also enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids in any sport that they were willing to try.

Rick spent many years involved in the AA program. There he dedicated a lot of his time to helping others while helping himself.

His true passion was his family. Rick had a heart larger than life. He had a contagious laugh that no one could ignore. Rick was truly one of a kind. He was the greatest “papa” to his grandkids, they will miss everything about him.

Dad, we will miss YOU and receiving your “all caps” TEXT messages. Your love will continue to always be with us. XOXO

Check back soon for tribute video.

Colie, I am so very sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I was thinking about the last time I saw Ricky and he couldn’t get my name right and you were getting so annoyed and he just laughed. May your good memories get you through this difficult time. Sending you hugs and love, Shell
