Robert Bruce Hale

February 13, 1955 - February 19, 2014

Robert Bruce Hale, 59, of Salt Lake City, skidded out full throttle in a blazing flame of glory….in his home Wednesday February 19, 2014.

He was born to Robert Bob and Ruth Hale in Taylorsville, UT on February 13, 1955. Bruce is married to the love of his life, Kerri Ottley Hale. Bruce and Kerri knew they were soul mates since childhood and finally got married on Sept. 27, 1987.

Bruce was the most amazing and loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He is survived by wife Kerri and his children; Jake (Bethany), Kamilla (Mathew), Richard (Allee). Grandchildren; Dylan, Samuel, Olivia, Keaton, Haylee, Nathan, and Ethan. As well as extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.

Dad lived every day of his life for his family. He took extreme pride in his Grandchildren and was the most fun Papa around. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from him during his 59 years, among many: Always take the scenic route, because what’s your hurry? Talk to strangers, you never know when you will make someone’s day. Take time to live, love and most importantly be yourself “ya goofy bastard”.

Bruce loved spending time in his garage (aka, Man Cave or The Bruce-eum), working on one of his many motorized vehicles, or fixing something (anything he could find). When visiting Bruce, as you walked in the house to say hello, he was walking outside to check your oil and the air in your tires.

He was very practical and creative, never letting anything go unused. This resulted in contraptions like the “suitcase stereo” made with a car battery (on show at the wake). You will have to see it to believe it!

Bruce was our family’s lifeline. He did anything and everything to ensure our happiness and well-being. Whenever something needed fixing, he was there.

The thing he enjoyed most, apart from his grandchildren, was driving through the mountains with his wife seated next to him. He loved the outdoors and took every opportunity to enjoy it with his family and friends.

Bruce was a ‘Father’ to many and would always welcome someone in need with open arms. He was the most accepting person you would ever meet and greatly impacted many lives.

He will always be remembered for his short-cuts that ended up being hours longer, his corny jokes and dance moves, and his eclectic love for music. Every conversation reminded him of a song and he was sure to sing it out loud no matter where he was.

His enormous personality, wealth of selflessness and welcoming smile will be sorely missed by his family and friends

His life will be celebrated on Saturday, March 1st from 2:00–4:00 pm at Teamsters Local 222 on 2641 S. 3270 W. WVC, UT. Come share your memories with his friends and family.

In Loving Memory

I hope Bruce is hanging with Udo and Scruffy.....laughing at all the "fuss" His eyes smiled more that most, and his heart was bigger than all.

I'd have never guessed you'd win the race to this finish, my friend. You had already won so many, when some had counted you out. You began to seem invincible. But I guess the old adage is true. Only the good die young. We'll miss you, Bruce. You will always remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, brother.

To the family of Robert Bruce Hale, I'm very sorry about the death of your loved one. I wanted to share the scriptural hope that gave me so much comfort and I hoped it would help you also. The Bible shows that God did not intend for humans to die. (Romans 5:12). It also calls death an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26). God has made arrangements to remove death forever. (Isaiah 25:8). God has set a time when he will resurrect our loved ones who have already died. (John 5:28,29). In the meantime, he promises to give us the inner peace to cope with our loss. (Philippians 4:7). Please go to jw.org to find satisfying answers using your own Bible. Sincerely, Susan Novak
