Robert Lee Taylor

February 11, 1963 - November 20, 2023

Robert Lee Taylor (Bob, Bobby, Big Bud, IcaBob) completed his adventure here on Earth on November 20, 2023, after feeding cancer a “Suck It Sandwich” for two years.  He was born on a freezing cold night in Virginia, Minnesota on February 11, 1963, to Robert G. and Rea A. Taylor and spent his youth living around the world with his family, including South Africa, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Holladay, Utah before settling at his beloved farm in Ioka, Utah.

Robert graduated from Olympus High School and went on to hone his artistic genius, starting his career at OC Tanner’s and becoming a Master Jeweler at Masseys Jewelers.  Robert excelled at every art medium he tried.  He continued as a Master Woodworker and created exceptional leather goods throughout his career.  His creative vision not only served him at work, but at home as well as he constructed his castle, complete with four turrets, block by block (3,684 to be exact) and his Arabian horse/bird sanctuary (with the occasional turtle thrown in).  Robert loved his peacocks and mallard ducks.

Robert never lost his sense of humor and faced each new challenge with his hysterical wit and positivity.  He was a favorite with the nurses, gracious to all he met, and had a rapid-fire quip for every situation.  He kept all of us going even at the darkest of times.  Robert loved being a father, grandfather and “Uncle Bob”.  He adopted those he loved into his fold and was so proud of his son Alec and granddaughters, Veronica and Bonnie.

Robert is survived by his son, Alec Taylor (Nicole), granddaughters, (Veronica & Bonnie), mother, Rea Taylor, brother, Scott Taylor (Gwen), sisters, Sheri Jensen (Pete), Susan Paulk (John), Raquel Taylor, Stacy Itow (Guy), Stephanie Martinez (Vince), adopted daughter Nikky Solomon (Marshall) and countless adoring nieces, nephews & friends.  He is proceeded in death by his loving father, Robert G. Taylor and we are sure they are combing the beaches of heaven right now searching for the perfect shell.

Robert, you will be greatly missed. We extend a special thanks to the Loveland Clinic for Blood Cancer Therapy and Bristol Hospice for the wonderful care they not only provided Robert, but the family as well.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to continue the fight to #FeedCancerASuckItSandwich

In Loving Memory

Going to miss you my friend, you're a great example of a strong individual. I was always amazed by your great talents, everything you did and touched was amazing, you are a very gifted individual. Our fun times in Holladay as kids running the neighborhood will always be etched in my mind. Hope you enjoy the photo of all of us in Mexico. Til we meet again....

Bro, I'm going to miss you something terrible. The last two years were difficult but you had this miracle way of smiling and laughing the whole time. I remember last month I took you to LDS hospital and Paige came down with a wheelchair to help you out of the car. You and her set your oxygen bottle between your legs on the wheelchair to get you upstairs. When I got back from parking the car. Paige was still laughing, saying u had pretend u where flying a jet. The oxygen handle was ur controller and it was a crazy ride up to the 7th floor almost crashing several times. She told me how much they love having you around.  I'm lucky to have you as my brother and blessed to have helped you through a hard time. Love you!
