Robert Leroy Lucas

October 10, 1928 - November 20, 2018

Our world has forever been changed today. We lost a great man, our patriarch, our rock, our hero. Always strong and rough on the outside and a marshmallow/big ole teddy bear on the inside. Always there for his family and friends and would give the shirt off his back to help a fellow human being. Personality as big as all outdoors with a strong handshake, all encompassing hug around the neck, a big smile and his signature ‘BEAUUUUTIFUL’!
Born on October 10, 1928 in Los Angeles, CA to Charles Elias Lucas and Alma Hansen Lucas. Married the love of his life, Carol Nancy Self on June 23, 1950. Served in the military. Worked for Mountain Fuel where he retired after 41 years. Beloved father to Stephanie Aune and Staci Newman (Craig), grandfather to Tangee Stevenson(Gavin), Lucas Hales(Camilla), Sage Aune, Abbie Manlove(Hunter), Andy Newman and great grandfather to Amelia, Isaac, Ruby, Harley, Charlotte and Ziggy. Two grandsons and one great grandson carry his name. Dad cherished his many life long friends and the special bond he had with them.
Survived by his wife Carol, his daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, twin sister Rosemary Fawson and brother Don Lucas. Proceeded in death by parents, and brothers Ken, Willis and Wallace.
We would like to thank and acknowledge Dr. Benjamin Kim who believed in dad and wanted to give him his best chance and his sweet, kind and attentive caregivers at St Marks Hospital and Life Care Center of Salt Lake.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building. Graveside services will be Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00am at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East College Street, Salt Lake City.

‘Rest in peace, daddy. We love you with all we got and you will be sorely missed.’

In Loving Memory

We always loved it when Bob would come down with Staci to stay at her Hurricane home. We loved sitting on the patio and having a cocktail with him while he told us many great stories and of course so sweet and everything was Beautiful. Chris had many fun golfing days with him. He will be missed down here at Sky Mountain

My husband Jim and I also worked for Mountain Fuel Supply for many years. Although we both worked in the Tooele Office we often had contact with Bob. When we needed addition help during busy times (such as turn on season) we always called Bob and he was eager to help us out in whatever we needed - he really was our go-to-guy and he always came through for us. He was not only a fellow employee but also a trusted friend. Please accept our sincere condolences of your beloved Father. Jim and Annette Allen

I'm so very sorry for your loss. But may the words of Jesus Christ that he spoke in John 5:28,29 to where we find him here giving us all a Hope for the future when he spoke the words by saying: AMD all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. So they will live once again and then all of you will be able to enjoy an endless life with them all, as Gods word the Bible says in Psalm 37:29 which says:The righteous will possess the earth and they will live forever on it. So may these words bring some real relief in the coming days.
