Robert was born to A. Robert Bauer, Jr., M.D. & Charmaine Studer Bauer in Columbus, OH. Moved to Mt. Pleasant, MI. Later attended St. Paul's school in Concord, N.H. Moved to Salt Lake City, UT where he played on the hockey team & graduated from Skyline High School in 1976. Received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah. Attended Westminster College in Accounting. Worked for Intercontinental Hotels Group since 1998. Member of Wasatch Christian Church, where he made Jesus the Lord of his life.Married Laurel Roach on December 4th, 1982 in Las Vegas, NV. Father to Thomas, Michelle, & Ian Bauer. Step-father to Casey (Dan) deGroof of WA & Denise (Nate) Gibbons. "Grandpa Bob" to Gwyn & Abby deGroof. Brother to John (Melodie) Bauer of CO., William Bauer, M.D. of WA, Anne (Andy) Jenkins, M.D. of AL, Charlie (Elaine) Bauer of MI, and Jim (Chija) Bauer of CA. Uncle to 5 nieces & 3 nephews. Nephew to 5 Aunts and 4 Uncles, plus lots of cousins. Bob loved spending time with his family, sports, & history. He loved to travel, to play "Bridge", & discuss politics & the economy. He was taken from us suddenly, was loved & will be missed more than he ever knew! May God grant us the peace & strength to live in the world without him, for it will be the hardest thing we've ever had to do. But one day, we will be with him again in Paradise! Until then, heaven is a better place! He was preceded in death by grandparents A. Robert Bauer, Sr., M.D. and Jessie Monie Bauer; and in-laws Michael & Virginia Roach. A wake service will be held on Friday, January 30th from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E., SLC. A graveside prayer will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 2 PM at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 South, SLC.
