Robert Patrick Kelleher

Robert Patrick Kelleher, 83, of West Valley City, UT, died May 8, 2014 at St. Joseph's Villa with family by his side.

Robert was born February 11, 1931 in Ogden, UT to Daniel J. and Stella Murray Kelleher. He was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College. On September 23, 1955, Robert married his sweetheart Jacqueline Marie Steiwer Bambenek at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ogden.

Robert was a brakeman and a conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad-a job he loved-working in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. He retired in 1994 after 41 hard-working years.

Robert is survived by his children Robert (Sheri), Michael (Joci), Julie (Jeff) Knudson, Tom (Eileen) and Don; grandchildren Jennifer, Robbie, and Patrick Kelleher, Katie Knudson, Elizabeth and Amy Kelleher, Ian and Ethan Kelleher; and great-grandson Benjamin Kelleher. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline, who died on August 11, 2012; as well as his parents; siblings; and two sons John and Paul, who died shortly after their birth.

A wake to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Friday, May 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 17th at 9:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3580 West Lancer Way (3650 South), West Valley City. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Ave. "T" Street, Salt Lake City.
