Robert Tafoya

June 17, 1938 - November 8, 2024

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Robert “Bob” Tafoya, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, at the age of 86. His strength, resilience, and enduring love touched all who knew him and will be forever remembered by those he leaves behind.

Born in Casper, Wyoming, Bob grew up in Trinidad, Colorado, where he attended Holy Trinity High School and helped lead his football team to a state championship. A proud graduate of Regis University, he built a distinguished career with Alsco Linen Supply, starting in the Service Department and advancing to General Manager positions in Billings, Montana; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Denver, Colorado. He ultimately became a well-respected regional manager of the Intermountain West, overseeing operations from Salt Lake City, Utah. In retirement, Bob continued to contribute to his industry as the president of the Southwest Linen Association. His years at Alsco were marked by both professional success and the lasting friendships he and his wife, Betsy, cherished.

Bob was a devoted sports fan and especially enjoyed golf. An avid Broncos fan, he loved spending time outdoors, whether working in his garden or enjoying time with family. Family was everything to Bob. He was a proud father to three daughters and always considered himself a great “girl dad.” As a grandfather to seven, he cherished every moment with his grandchildren, who will always remember the joy of golf cart rides with their dear grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Orlando and Theresa, as well as his son-in-law, Kip Dorr, a niece, Jody Wilson and nephew Matthew Tafoya. Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betsy, and his three daughters: Beth Dorr, Brooke Cain (Scott), and Barb Superka (Mark). He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren: Staff Sergeant Zach Fuhr and his wife Erin; Amy Fuhr; Connor, Ryan, and Chloe Cain; and Kate and Andrew Superka. Bob is also survived by his brother, Ronald Tafoya, and his wife, Julie, along with a niece, Carrie George, and two nephews, Jeff Wilson and Michael Tafoya.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on November 26, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, located at 3015 E Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights, Utah, 84093.

Bob’s warmth, strength, and love for life will live on in all who knew him. May he rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Thomas More Catholic Church c/o Catholic Community Services, Gift of the Drummer Program for children who are less fortunate.

In Loving Memory

Bob was my friend and mentor . He helped me start my career and was always a trusted friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to Betsy, the girls and the Tafoya family. May perpetual light shine upon him.

Many lives were bettered by Bob being in them, especially mine. Bob wasn't just a great girl dad and husband, he was the best Father In Law any person, who was lucky enough to join the family, could ask for. I hope to be the Grandparents that Bob and Betsy have been to all of our kids. He will always be missed.
